Nicky Clarke London

I never win anything. Never! So when I was told I had won to have my hair done for free at the famous Nicky Clarke salon in Mayfair London, I couldn’t believe it. The best part? All I had to do was regram a picture on IG. Yes, it was really that easy!

After receiving the exciting news that I had won, they got in touch with me and booked me in for a cut and blow dry (they did offer a colour too, but I’m pretty happy with my ginger locks right now!). I was over the moon that they were able to fit me in just before I go away, perfect timing hey?

I’m quite a scaredy cat when it comes to the hairdressers, as I’ve had my fair share of bad experiences. My hair is thick, long and well, somewhat difficult to manage. The worst thing that someone could say to me when I sit down into the salon chair ‘gosh you’ve got so much hair’, it makes me start to think they don’t know how to deal with it…and a lot of the time, they don’t! Since moving down South, I haven’t found that one hairdresser I am comfortable leaving full responsibility over my hair with, so as much as I was excited for my Nicky Clarke Salon experience, I was also a little nervous.

My hair was booked in with style director Jack, who’s worked at the salon for over a year now and has extensive experience working in different London salons, learning from some of the best, yet developing his own flare. I sat myself down and said ‘do what you like with my hair, just keep the length because I prefer my hair long’ – brave much?! But I had a good feeling about Jack and this beautiful salon. Arriving at the door of Nicky Clarke was quite something; it’s beautiful, welcoming and extremely luxurious. The staff are wonderful and approachable, which is opposing to many other hairdressers I have walked into before and felt immediately judged and unwelcome.

The whole experience at Nicky Clarke was enjoyable; everyone working at the salon gave off the impression that nothing was too much to ask. Endless coffees presented beautifully on silver trays, amazing shampoo and conditioners made from caviar (sounds strange but it smelt incredible) to a relaxing head massage and service to your chair – I mean, come on? This place is fabulous!

I walked into that salon with fresh-out-of-bed-hair (I don’t quite “wake up flawless” unfortunately), in fact I think I was one inch away from cat lady hair. I was a little embarrassed over the state of my hair, but oh well I don’t think Jack or anyone cared. It probably gave him a challenge and everyone loves a challenge right?! Anyway, the end result was Cinderella-esque. My hair looked like something straight off the red carpet. I am over the moon with the end result and truly trust Jack with my hair. In fact I plan to now use him as my only hairdresser whilst being based down South. It is a little more expensive than I would normally pay, but I’m more than happy to save for it, thinking of it as an investment rather than a quick-fix.

Sooo…What do you think? I know, he did a good job ey?

Thank you ever so much to Jack at Nicky Clarke London, you transformed my hair to something quite star worthy, I am excited for my next visit and all the compliments that come with it! If you want to get your hair done in London at a beautiful salon, with extremely friendly and professional hairdressers, I highly recommend Nicky Clarke, check out prices and stylists here. They also have salons in Manchester and Birmingham.
