I’m not 100% sure that everyone would agree with me, but I’m just being honest and saying it how it is: being a Personal Trainer, working in the health and fitness industry, does not necessarily mean that I always find it easy to live the lifestyle I promote. Sometimes, no matter how hard I try, getting up and going for a jog or starting my day with nothing but a green juice, just doesn’t excite me even though I know it should! But hey, maybe that’s just because I’ve lost my motivation…
I used to strive myself on visiting the gym more than once in a day, taking part in back to back classes to try new things and learn new skills. Eating healthy was just something I had taught myself to do and it was enjoyable. Treats were something I had on a Friday night, if that, and exercise was a part of my daily routine. Now, I find it difficult to say no to a bloody Haribo sweet!
After having a great relationship with health and fitness, a terrible one developed: under-eating and overexercising became my daily life. This is where it all went wrong (but that’s a story for another day!). Since then, I have become somewhat of a slob; lacking in motivation, finding it hard to fully enjoy exercise and healthy eating and I guess quite fearful of the past creeping back up on me. But enough is enough and I’m finally ready to be that girl again. The girl who loves to dance, takes pride in her appearance, enjoys a treat every so often and feels fit, healthy and invincible! To help me on this journey, plus also to help others out there I have decided to do a weekly post which will consist of:
My week in workouts – what I did each day
A motivational quote of the week
My power song – the one that kept me going!
My favourite downtime activity
My go-to workout snack or meal
Who has motivated me this week
How I am getting on – my thoughts on each workout, what I’ve tried that’s new, how I am getting on with my goals and what I feel I could do differently in order to be better the next week!
I’m really looking forward to writing these posts each week, I feel as though they’ll help to keep me on track, stay motivated and inspired. So what the hell am I waiting for? Let’s turn this shit around! I want to be fit, healthy, happy and inspire others to do the same for themselves. My first weekly workout post will be up Sunday evening – I’m excited, are you?!
