Date Night

On Saturday Tom and I decided a date night was on the cards; after a long, hard week (or two weeks rather), a night out with too much food and lots of laughs seemed highly appropriate and much needed. We chose Bluewater as it’s our local shopping centre with everything under one roof. Of course the choice of dinner was easy: Jamie’s Italian is always my first choice! Oh, and the Christmas lights are now up so it’s extremely festive to walk around the centre, which I love.

As the queue was quite long, we went off for a mooch around the shops. Whilst on our travels around the huge centre, we found ourselves in front of a lovely big Christmas tree, covered in red labels with names and ages on them: The Giving Tree. Tom and I immediately wanted to get involved with this, as last year we missed it. Basically, you pick a name off the tree (age is provided too) and then you buy a gift for that child for Christmas. The children you buy for are less fortunate and wouldn’t be receiving gifts without The Giving Tree, so it’s just nice to know that we will be putting a smile on someones face Christmas morning.

After choosing our gifts for Lily 18 and Daniel 9, we headed back to Jamie’s Italian for dinner. As our table wasn’t quite ready we enjoyed drinks at the bar first, I had a Grey Goose Cocktail and Tom had a beer. Then we were showed to our table upstairs, and by this point we were so hungry!! Luckily, because I am a Gold Member with Jamie’s restaurant, we were given a sample of the Porcini Arancini starter to try whilst choosing our main course, it was delicious! Tom even liked it and he hates mushrooms!!

For main course I had Squid and Mussel Spaghetti Nero with a side of Rocket and Parmesan Salad, and Tom had the Meatball Pappardelle. I loved my main course but Tom wasn’t so convinced with his as it was a little too spicy!

For dessert I had the Molten Chocolate Praline Pudding which was amazing and Tom had the Epic Brownie which also was incredible. Also, because we are part of the gold member club we also received £10 off the bill! It is such an amazing club to join and it’s absolutely free. Join HERE!

Then we came home, lit lots of candles, put The X Factor on and ate a few sweets (shhhhh don’t tell anyone)!! I had the best evening with Tom. I am a very lucky girl!

What is your favourite type of date night?
