Let’s Talk

So I’m going to be ‘all-blogger-no-shame’ right now and introduce my first ever monthly favourites post. I know, I know, boring right? Yet another blogger jumping on the band wagon of monthly favourites. But, if I’m honest, they always seem to be one of my favourite posts to read when I’m scrolling endlessly through my favourite blogs. I mean who doesn’t want an excuse to buy more stuff?! Coming from a self confessed hoarder…

Anyway, I thought it’d be a great way to show you lovely lot what I buy and why I buy it. Actually, some of these things were bought for me at Christmas time and I’ve only just got around to using these in the past month due to having endless supplies of beauty products, books and candles. It’s been quite exciting to have saved some of these treats until April, makes Christmas last all year round…Christmas is the best time of year after all.

Neom Candle

Wow. I can’t even begin to describe just how much I love this candle. Now I’ve had plenty of beautiful, expensive candles bought for me in the past (after my fear of candles disappeared that is) and this candle just beats them all. NEOM Organics London products are 100% natural, which I’m a fan of, and they are a brand I truly believe in. With candles designed to help you de-stress or to make you feel focused, I want one for every room, for every mood (if only my house was big enough!). But one for each month will do!

The one I have at the moment is ‘Perfect Peace’ which I don’t believe you can buy on their UK website at the moment as I think it was a winter scent of theirs, which is really disappointing as I love it. Although I am willing to try another one (I’ve got my eyes on Real Luxury next) as I have faith that every candle they make will be stunning. Anyway, this one candle can take over our little flat in no time (in a good way), after being lit for only a short while, the flat smells inviting and Mr T and I relax. Great one to light when you’re doing Yoga.

Aromatherapy De-Stress Muscle Gel

Now, for those of you that know me, you know Jess & Stress go hand in hand…I try and I try to help myself, but stress just seems to be something I suffer with. Most recently stress has crept up on me, not so much mentally but physically, which is strange as I usually don’t always notice the affect it has on my body in that way. I’ve had terrible headaches, achey muscles and one hell of a sore neck (which has also affected my shoulders and jaw). I appear to be grinding or glenching my jaw and teeth at night which is causing a terrible amount of pain and although this is not fixing this problem I’m facing, this gel is definitely helping. I persuade Mr T to rub it into my back and shoulders as much as possible as it has a lovely tingly feeling which takes away from the pain and it smells amazing too (I want to eat it, it smells that good!).  It warms the area and eases the pain, plus one of the ingredients is lavender, so putting it on just before bed really helps me sleep better!

I’m almost out as I’m using it daily, so will definitely be purchasing more of this stuff. Anything to help me de-stress!

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

So this is a funny one really…I struggle with buying foundations. In fact I get embarrassed. I would love to go from counter to counter and try every single one on before buying a foundation. They’re so expensive and I often buy one under pressure, to later realise, it just doesn’t suit my skin or feel quite right.

I don’t find it easy or enjoyable finding a foundation I actually love. Nevertheless, I tried again recently and my experience at the Armani counter in Bluewater was second to none! The lady was fabulous, giving me free samples of lots of products and even suggesting I had a walk around the shops with the foundation on before purchasing anything.

I’m very pleased with my foundation, although not perfect, as I mix it with a No.7 one somedays, it is up there at the top. It stays on nicely, the colour is a brilliant match and for something that has an Armani label, I’d say it’s pretty reasonably priced too.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser

The Cleanse & Polish is so easy to use (great for those lazy like myself with their make-up removing regime!), it’s extremely gentle on my skin, it takes my make off thoroughly and seems to be everlasting which saves more money than buying wipes!  The Skin Repair Moisturiser dries really quickly once applied which is great as I’m usually rushing to put my make-up on or get in bed. Again, it’s really gentle on my skin, smells nice and it smoothes out my dry patches before I start with the make-up routine!

Sweaty Betty Jumpsuit

A comfortable all-in-one that isn’t a onesie, which you can do Yoga in but also wear with flip-flops or heels whilst out with your friends sipping Pimms in the Summer…who wouldn’t want one of these?! It comes in an all black version, or the one which I’ve bought, which is black/off-white scallop print. I want them both of course. Sooooo lovely.

Top With Cinnamon by Izy Hossack

I mean, the book itself is beautiful. I’d happily have this placed on my kitchen table all day every day. My lovely Mum bought this for me and I just love the book. It’s filled with gorgeous recipes that are healthy, modern and a little bit different. I’m just about to make the roasted cauliflower – seems really simple and I believe Mr T may like cauliflower if done this way!

Aēsop. Body Cleanser

Smells like roses, comes all nicely packaged and makes you feel super shiny clean after a hot shower – the kind of body wash this girl needs. My lovely cousin bought this for me from Paris so it makes it even more special! I’m not too sure if I can buy this here in London, but if not, I shall be getting her to bring some more back with her when she heads home.

Lovely ‘all the world’ Notebook – Paperchase

I saw this the other day and I couldn’t resist…all my blogging ideas, notes and scribbles shall be hidden away in this big, pretty book.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Perfume

Mr T really did surprise me with this one. This perfume is what I would describe as luxurious; I spray it on and I feel like I’m Marilyn Monroe for the moment.  I tend to save it, let it last as long as possible and wear it for special occasions and evenings out only. It’s dreamy, it really is.

So there you have it, my favourites from the month of April! I had plenty more I could’ve blabbed on about, but these were ones I felt were worth mentioning. I’ve tried to include links to most of the products in case you wanted to make a cheeky purchase yourself. I know that Aromatherapy & Neom do great introductory offers on your first order, so get yourselves signed up!!

Thanks for reading my first ever monthly favourites post, I wonder what May shall bring…

Beauty of a post! I’m a huge fan of Liz Earle’s cleanse and polish, can’t be without it. Think I’m going to have to invest in the de-stresser too.. I often wake up with a sore jaw and my shoulders are a mess.
Lastly, gorgeous print on the jumpsuit!
    Thanks 🙂

What a lovely comment to wake up to! Glad you enjoyed the read 🙂 and I thoroughly recommend the de-stresser gel, it doesn’t fix the cause but it sure helps the pain! Just going to pop over to your blog now, even the name is inviting me in! Thanks again The Little Home Kitchen! X
